<p>Serious foodies, this one’s for you. The <a href="https://www.nationalrestaurantawards.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">top 100 restaurants</a> in the UK have just been unveiled in the coveted <a href="https://www.nationalrestaurantawards.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Restaurant Awards</a> by Estrella Damm and Scotland&#8217;s restaurant scene has had another stellar year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Eight Scottish restaurants have secured places among the UK&#8217;s dining elite – a list voted for by people who really know what they’re talking about when it comes to great food: chefs, restaurateurs and food writers from across the country.</p>



<p>Leading the charge in Scotland is Edinburgh&#8217;s <strong>Timberyard</strong>, which not only secured a place in the UK top 25 but also scooped <strong>Best Restaurant in Scotland</strong>, sponsored by Liberty Wines and Charles Heidsieck, as well as the coveted <strong>Cocktail List of the Year</strong> award. Not a bad night&#8217;s work.</p>



<p>London restaurants might dominate the top 100 overall – 55 restaurants from the capital feature – the awards show off the growing breadth and quality of restaurants across the wider UK, with Scotland’s capital doing the heavy lifting here, accounting for five of the country&#8217;s eight entries, and Fife, Perthshire and Argyll also flying the flag for destination dining worth travelling for.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-25-timberyard-edinburgh">25. Timberyard, Edinburgh</h2>

<p>Few restaurants have done more to shape modern Scottish dining than Timberyard. Set within a beautifully restored former warehouse, it has long championed seasonal Scottish produce, thoughtful cooking and a fiercely independent spirit. This year it added even more silverware to its collection, being named Best Restaurant in Scotland and winning Cocktail List of the Year. With its warm hospitality, inventive drinks programme and consistently outstanding food, it&#8217;s easy to see why.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-33-lyla-edinburgh">33. Lyla, Edinburgh</h2>

<p>Stuart Ralston&#8217;s seafood-focused restaurant continues its meteoric rise. Located in a handsome Georgian townhouse, LYLA showcases the finest fish and shellfish from around Scotland through an elegant tasting menu that balances precision with personality. Every detail feels carefully considered, from the sourcing to the presentation, making this one of the capital&#8217;s most sought-after bookings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-35-the-kinneuchar-inn-kilconquhar-fife">35. The Kinneuchar Inn, Kilconquhar, Fife</h2>



<p>A village pub with national acclaim, The Kinneuchar Inn is proof that great food doesn&#8217;t need a city postcode. Tucked away in the East Neuk of Fife, its daily-changing menus are driven by exceptional local produce and a commitment to simple, ingredient-led cooking. The atmosphere remains wonderfully down-to-earth, making it every bit as appealing to locals as visiting food lovers.</p>

<p>Tom Kitchin&#8217;s flagship remains one of Scotland&#8217;s defining restaurants. More than a decade after earning its Michelin star, The Kitchin continues to deliver its celebrated &#8220;From Nature to Plate&#8221; philosophy with confidence and consistency. Expect impeccable Scottish ingredients, classical French technique and the sort of polished hospitality that never goes out of style.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-51-dogstar-edinburgh">51. Dogstar, Edinburgh</h2>



<p>One of the newest names on the list and perhaps one of the most exciting. Housed in a beautifully revived Leith pub, Dogstar has quickly become one of Edinburgh&#8217;s hottest tables. With former Timberyard chef James Murray leading the kitchen, the food is ambitious without being fussy, while the drinks offering ensures locals are just as happy dropping in for a pint as settling down for dinner. A remarkable achievement for such a young restaurant.</p>

<p>Part bakery, part neighbourhood dining room, part destination restaurant, The Palmerston has become one of Edinburgh&#8217;s most beloved addresses. The menu changes constantly, the bread has a cult following and the atmosphere strikes that elusive balance between relaxed and seriously accomplished. The kind of place that makes excellence look effortless.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-93-inver-strachur-argyll-amp-bute">93. Inver, Strachur, Argyll &amp; Bute</h2>



<p>There are destination restaurants – and then there&#8217;s Inver. Overlooking Loch Fyne in a tiny west coast village, chef-owner Pamela Brunton has built one of Scotland&#8217;s most distinctive dining experiences. The menus celebrate the wild landscapes of Argyll through foraged ingredients, local seafood and produce sourced from small-scale growers and producers. The views alone are worth the journey; the food is unforgettable.</p>
