Muddy Meets: Edinburgh-based author Kate Foster

Kate Foster has made a name for herself writing richly researched historical fiction set in and around the capital. With three novels already published, one longlisted for the Women’s Prize, and a fourth, The Repentance, out in May, she’s carving out a niche for breathing life into Scotland’s overlooked women – and isn’t afraid to follow her stories beyond its shores. We caught up with her to talk writing routines, research rabbit holes and why Maggie Dickson deserved better.
